Consider the tips we have provided in this blog to help you come up with the best decision for you and your tree.

Removal Should be the Last Resort
Removing a tree should not be the primary solution to an issue concerning your tree. Trees enhance the beauty of your property, and it is also good for the environment and serve as a natural habitat for some wildlife. A tree expert can diagnose health issues with your trees and tell whether it can be treated or not.

Professional Tree Removal Contractors
Hire only a professional tree removal service company to ensure the quality of service. Certified arborists can take down any type or size of the tree safely and efficiently. In some cases, tree removal can be complicated because the tree is located in a hard to access area. There is also a high demand for professional tree contractors after a storm to remove damaged trees or fallen branches.

Be careful of people who go door-to-door offering their service because they are typically con artists who only want your money.

Regulations Regarding Tree Removal
Just because you own the tree doesn’t mean the decision to remove it all belongs to you. Specific rules are governing every city and counties when it comes to tree removal. Some municipalities require inspections and permits before a tree can be removed.  In Santa Barbara County, a tree removal application review is required.  You must submit a tree removal application submit it to the Forestry Program office, which is located 402 E. Ortega St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.  The review process can take up to 60 days.

In some communities, the homeowners’ association may also have a say when it comes to tree removal. A professional tree company will help the homeowner in getting all the necessary permits and licenses needed for the removal.

Stump and Lumber Removal
A tree stump can be an eyesore. A professional tree removal company should include stump removal in their service to help the homeowner get rid of this nuisance in the yard. Some companies will also provide homeowners with options regarding the lumber. The tree company can cut it to manageable segments ideal for firewood, or it can be made into wood chips using the contractor’s chippers.

Ask the tree service company about the options you have for tree removal and the cost for each additional service.

Trees on a Neighbor’s Property
You may not be the only one who has a tree in the yard in your community. When a tree topples, or a branch falls during a storm, it is possible for it to damage not just your property, but your neighbor’s as well. If you think your neighbor’s tree is a threat to your property, you can talk to them or request through a certified letter for the tree removed.

In an unfortunate case that your property gets damaged by your neighbor’s tree, the letter may help with the insurance claims process.

Mission Tree Service Santa Barbara

Tree Removal Santa Barbara

Tree removal service is our most commonly performed job.  It is unfortunate when a tree needs to be removed, but there are very legitimate reasons for doing so.  These reasons include: creating landscape problems, such as not being able to grow grass; storm damage causing the tree to look unsightly and maybe even being a hazard; becoming overgrown, especially when originally planted too close to a property structure; creating problems with underground utilities; and, natural decay and death.  While no one likes to cut down a tree, as the list above attests too, it can be very necessary.  Call the tree removal Santa Barbara trusts to perform this job efficiently, safely, and affordably.

Tree removal always starts with a free, on-site assessment of the tree (or trees) to be cut down.  During this assessment, our assessor can evaluate the removals level of complexity due to size, age, access, and location to property structures and power lines.   At the end of our visit, we will give you a verbal quote and have our office staff send you the quote in writing coupled with our proof of insurance and licensing.  Using our quote, you can then easily compare and contrast our estimate with any other tree service in Santa Barbara you may be considering.   With that said, we trust you will find our quote and level of customer service to be the best in the Santa Barbara County area.

Tree Removal Process

After you have received and agree to our tree removal estimate, on the day of the scheduled job, one of our Mission Tree Service office staff will call you that morning to confirm the appoint and pinpoint our estimated time of arrival.  We try to provide our customers with a two-hour window in which to expect us – we would like to be more precise, however, tree work can vary in length of time.

Our tree removal process is methodical, safe, and efficient.  Regardless if we climb the tree or access it via our bucket truck, our lead cutter will begin to remove the tree starting at the canopy.  We always remove trees from the top to the bottom.  That is unless a customer simply wants a tree to be fallen so that they can perform all the clean-up work.  As we start to remove the uppermost part of the tree, we will safely lower each large limb to the ground for further cutting.  We cut all wood into 3-foot segments, either to be hauled away or stacked in a convenient location on your property.  The tree will be reduced from the top down, branch by branch, until we are left with the main trunk, generally no more than 10-12 feet in height.  At this point, we will fall the trunk so that it can be completely removed in sections (or rounds).  We will cut the trunk at a height suitable for grinding, or if you aren’t grinding the stump, we can cut it to any height you desire.  During the entire removal process, we will have a ground crew that functions to keep the area clean of tree debris and to cut limbs lowered down into 3-foot sections.  All smaller limbs and twigs will be removed to our wood chipper, stationed close by but

on the street.  All the large pieces of wood can be stacked for firewood, or removed via our dump truck.

Please call us for all your tree removal needs. We offer discounts on multiple tree removals and can usually schedule you the same week as you call.  And we are professional, insured, and licensed in the state of California.
